Images Not Displaying in an Email Client
Images in an email sometimes don't display for a variety of reasons. If your contacts are telling you that they're receiving your email but content isn't displaying properly, a good place to start is to have them check the settings in their email client to make sure that their images are enabled to display:
Gmail
Gmail will automatically display images by serving them through their own secure proxy servers. If images are not displaying automatically, you can manually adjust your settings.
Display images in Gmail:
- Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the page.
- Select Settings.
- On the General tab, click the "Always display external images" radio button.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.
For additional assistance with Gmail, please see Gmail Support.
Outlook (Hotmail / Windows Live)
Display images for individual emails:
- Open the email.
- Click Show content at the top of the email.
- Click "Show blocked content."
Disable image blocking for all messages:
- Click Settings.
- Click "View all Outlook settings."
- Click Mail > Layout.
- Under the Sender image section, select "Show sender images."
For additional assistance with images in Outlook, please see Microsoft Support.
Yahoo
Start by opening your email in Yahoo. You have a couple of options:
Display images for individual emails:
- Open an email.
- In the "This message contains blocked images" message, click "Show images."
Disable image blocking for all messages:
- Click Settings > More Settings.
- Click "Viewing email."
- Under the Show images in messages section, select "Always, except in spam folder."
